Rachel Joulia-Helou, editor-in-chief of AMILCAR MAGAZINE GROUP.

Christophe-Nicolas Biot knew he wanted to be a hairdresser one day when he accompanied his mother to a salon. He immediately loved the atmosphere of the place, the smell of hairspray, the closeness between the hairdressers and their customers… He was 14 at the time !

Always on the lookout for the best addresses, many celebrities put their trust in Christophe-Nicolas Biot : Isabelle Huppert, Laëtitia Casta, Juliette Binoche, Emmanuelle Seignier, Élodie Bouchez, Bixente Lizarazu, Melody Gardot, Benoît Magimel, Amanda Lear, Zaz, Cristiana Reali, Elodie Fontan, Marianne Chazelle, Yasmina Reza… like to visit her intimate salon in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

«TO SUCCEED IN THIS PROFESSION YOU NEED A REAL PASSION, A DOSE OF TALENT, A LOT OF HARD WORK, A BIT OF LUCK AND SOME GREAT ENCOUNTERS! »

CHRISTOPHE-NICOLAS BIOT

Christophe-Nicolas Biot began his career in Mulhouse, his home town, working in a prestigious salon with a Meilleur Ouvrier de France.

Thrust onto the stage at the age of 17 by Wella France’s Artistic Director, he learnt the importance of gesture, dexterity, precision and speed, all of which are essential to his shows. His shows around the world are eagerly awaited by hairdressers. He conceives them as real visual shows, like musicals. His artistic choices leave nothing to chance: music, styling, models… Everything is meticulously studied to create a coherent, grandiose whole.

Christophe-Nicolas is a visionary in the world of hairdressing, always ahead of a trend and always listening to his customers, he becomes the translator of their desires and needs. That’s why, shortly after opening his Maison de Coiffure in 2010, he created the Bar à chignon Minute. This innovative concept was an instant success.

At the end of 2013, he launched Le Bar des Coloristes, a completely new concept, halfway between mass-market haircolour and hairdressing salon services. You can buy professional haircolour and do it yourself at home, without the cost of the service.

L’Atelier BioT was launched in October 2016. A unique place entirely dedicated to natural hair care and plant-based colouring. Christophe-Nicolas is recognised as a pioneer and expert in the field of plant- based colouring, which he has been practising and promoting for many years.

In September 2017, Christophe-Nicolas opened the Maison de Coiffure de Mulhouse in the heart of his home town. At the end of 2018, he expanded the space by opening a Beauty Studio on the ground floor.

In September 2018, the Maison de Coiffure in Paris reopened its doors after a month’s work. An additional touch of modernity and comfort for this space with timeless charm.

In early 2019, Christophe-Nicolas Biot will open his individual, made-to-measure hairdressing salon in the AKASHA SPA at the Lutetia hotel.

In 2019, he will open a new Village Royal hairdressing salon in the 8th arrondissement of Paris and launch the concept of the instant dry cut.

In 2020, Christophe Nicolas Biot opened two new hair salons, in Val d’Isère and Saint Tropez. At the same time, he innovated by creating Rep’Hair Color, the concept of colour repair. During the confinement, he invented “Ma Visio Color”, the first colour diagnosis service via video conference, including home delivery of products.

In September 2020, he launched the Mon Protocole mixed natural line for hair and scalp care. This hair care line features 100% natural, hand-crafted products from organic farming. Based on essential oils, the line is made by hand in the Charente region of France. At a depth of more than 160 metres, the spring water from which it is made has been protected and has acquired its purity and lightness through natural filtration over more than 20,000 years, guaranteed nitrate-free. Mon Protocole is an eco-responsible

line, guaranteed preservative-, sulphate-, paraben- and silicone-free, which cares for the body and the environment. It comes in an amber glass bottle with a pump to preserve the purity of the active ingredients, just like an apothecary’s line.

In 2021, Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche introduced products from the Mon Protocole range. It launched products from the HOM’ range to coincide with the opening of the first plant-based barbershop in Paris. The Four Seasons Megève carries Christophe Nicolas Biot Paris products.

In 2022, Christophe-Nicolas Biot, always attentive to the needs of both men and women, launched his Mon Protocole Visage et Corps line of mixed cosmetics, designed in a 100% natural and eco-responsible artisanal way. In February, the 10 products in the “by Biot” range were added to the Hair Room at Printemps Haussmann.
