The Cannes Film Festival is pleased to welcome Kevin Costner and present his latest film Horizon, An American Saga which will be screened on Sunday May 19, 2024.
Kevin Costner will present the first opus of Horizon, An American Saga in world premiere, Out of Competition. A project in several episodes on the conquest of the American West of which he is the director and, alongside Sienna Miller, one of the actors.
Kevin Costner has always strived to portray America: its origins, its faults and its legends. For him, and we know it since Dances with Wolves , the western has established itself as the genre of choice to express his political and environmental commitment.

After forays into the series Hatfields and McCoys and Yellowstone , he returns with Horizon, An American Saga, the genre that made the heyday of American cinema, through an ambitious project on the cost of wars and violence in the construction and the expansion of the United States of America.
Horizon, An American Saga will consist of 4 episodes with the main roles: Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington and Jena Malone. Its release will extend over several months.
An accomplished actor appreciated by the public – we remember Eliot Ness in The Untouchables by Brian De Palma – Kevin Costner went behind the camera in 1990 with Dances with Wolves , a humanist chronicle in which he played a soldier of the War of Near secession of a Sioux tribe. Having become cult, Dances with Wolves was a critical and public success which won 7 Oscars including that of best film.
Kevin Costner continued to exploit his talents as an actor, constantly revealing new facets of his game: he alternately played Robin Hood in Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves by Kevin Reynolds (1991), Jim Garrison, prosecutor in responsible for the investigation into the Kennedy assassination in JFK by Oliver Stone (1991), a bodyguard on the lookout in Bodyguard by Mick Jackson (1992) or even a fugitive with a big heart in A Perfect World by Clint Eastwood ( 1993).
